Tea Cup Exchange

I recently participated in my first “Tea Cup Exchange” with Stephanie at The Enchanting Rose.Β I have known Stephanie for a long time, she was one of the first followers on my blog: “Evangelize to Me.” I never really understood how an exchange worked, but I was always curious. When she offered this opportunity, I decided to try it.

After submitting my name and address, Stephanie paired me with Kitty at Kitty’s Kozy Kitchen. I sent her a little package with a cup and some goodies too. Kitty has a blog that includes arts, crafts and recipes. She sent me an email with a photo of the things I sent her, and a written thank you note too. What a lovely person! I am so happy to have met her.

Then a package came to my door! Anne from Stuff and NonsenseΒ sent me some lovely things, and I am so happy to share that with you today.

Anne sent me a beautiful and colorful cup and saucer. Where I live, it’s still cold, and I have been drinking tea almost every night. This cup will cheer up those chilly evenings. The jam is amazing, and maybe you can’t see the name of it, it’s called “Four Fruits Preserves.” My husband has been eyeing it every since it came! And she sent a ceramic spoon to use with it too.

I love the journal. What blog-writer isn’t reaching for paper to write down ideas, or work out a thought? This journal will be my companion at teatime. And if I don’t have any ideas to work on, I have this little pack of amazing prints of the Biltmore Estate. This Estate is located in North Carolina, and is owned and operated by the family of George Vanderbilt. The photos are so beautiful. They are the perfect thing to view while I sip my tea.

Anne’s blog is a mash-up of lots of things. She writes book reviews, interviews authors, posts photos and poetry, highlights crafts and participates in Random 5 Friday. I hope you’ll visit her!

She really hung in there with me. The first time she sent my package, it was returned to her…wrong address! Thank you again Anne for clearing up the problem and resending the box. I love it all.

Maybe you’d like to participate in an exchange some day. It’s a fun way to meet new bloggers, and get something in the mail that’s not a bill. And you don’t have to be a blogger to participate!

Dear Friends,

Amy, from God’s Grace OverflowsΒ has asked for our prayers. She lives in rural Colorado, where they are suffering through a significant drought. The topsoil is so dry that it’s blowing away in the wind. The dirt also blows into homes, causing all kinds of clean-up challenges.

Would you keep Amy, her family and neighbors in your prayers? And please pray for rain to fall in her region. I know she will appreciate all your efforts. Thank you so much.

I certainly am enjoying the gifts you sent me and I have loved getting to know you through Stephanie’s tea cup exchange. I think the nicest people share the love of tea, among many other blessings. Your tea cup and tea gifts are so pretty and I know you are enjoying them. Blessings to you!
p.s. I enjoyed some of the spicy tea yesterday afternoon…so good!

  10. Praying for Amy and all those suffering difficult weather conditions.

How do you manage to keep the tea from spilling from the cup in transit and making everything wet? Also, how do you keep the tea hot all the way to its recipient?

    God bless.

  12. This is such a nice idea! Thanks for sharing a view of the goodies you received.
I will pray for the drought situation to change. We too are in a drought but in northern Calif. it’s not nearly as severe. Praying for the Lord to heal our land. Of course we must remember that “our land” needs to turn from it’s wicked ways, as well as pray for God’s blessings. To God be the glory.

  13. Hello Ceil!
    So nice to see you!
Your tea cup from Ann is quite colorfull and tea in it is a delight. I know because I recieved one just like that some time ago from Dear Kitty, at Kitty’s Kozy Kitchen. When I use mine I will think of you. πŸ™‚
This tea cup exchange is such a wonderful way to met dear ladie’s, such as yourself.

I will be praying for the weather situation where Amy lives. What a peace we can know and have as others are praying for us.

  14. What a fun assortment! I love the little ceramic spoon. I will definitely add the people of Colorado to my prayer list. They could use some of our rain that caused a massive mudslide here in Washington state where many homes were destroyed and lives lost. Always much to pray for…

  15. Hi Ceil,
Thanks for visiting my blog and I think the teacup you received is lovely. The Biltmore Estate is one of my favorite places to visit since I am from NC! Hope you get to see it one day. Take care!

  16. Ceil,

I have a collection of English bone china cups and I so enjoy using them for my tea.

We have had too much drought in Colorado in the past few years.

    So enjoyed this post πŸ™‚

  17. Hi Ceil,

  18. Ms. Ceil, thanks so much for stopping by and visiting me at “Breathing in Jesus”. An exchange sounds lovely…..let me know if that happens, I would love to be involved!!! HOPE you have an awesome weekend!

  19. Ceil, I love your package! If you ever get the chance to visit the Biltmore, I promise you will fall in love with its beauty. It’s about 2 hours north of my home. I have never been there during the summer, but the Fall colors around the estate and in the mountains is absolutely breathtaking.

Also, I will remember Amy and those in rural Colorado in my prayers.
Many blessings to you my friend!

  20. Ooh, what a lovely teacup and saucer set. And I bet the preserves are yummy. I also live in NC and we love yummy things like preserves. If you ever get to see the Biltmore, it’s fantastic!
