His Hands and Feet

My friend Victor from Time For Reflections tagged me for this Lent Meme. I thought I would share it with you.

Now I know that not everyone keeps to the tradition of the Lenten Season, but his goal in sharing this has no time or season. It’s about extending ourselves to others.

It’s not hard to do, it just takes a little time, and a dedicated intention. And as he says, if you feel ‘greedy’ (and I hope we all will!) we can make more than one sacrifice of time, prayer or talent for someone else.

I am called to be like Christ everyday, regardless of what the calendar tells me. This wonderful challenge will help me to reach the goal that God calls me reach…to be his hands and feet in a world that desperately needs love.

I hope you’ll decide to join me. One prayer, one act at a time, we can change the world.

This LENT MEME is very easy to follow.

RULES

1       Copy paste this post on your Blog.

2      Contact as many other Bloggers as you like and leave them this comment: “You have been tagged for the LENT MEME on my Blog”.

3      And now the difficult bit: Do someone a good deed. Anyone. Relative, friend or stranger. Any good deed. Saying a prayer for someone in need. Helping an old person with shopping, transport, gardening. Visiting a sick person. Giving some money to charity.

Just use your imagination and do any good deed.

If you are greedy you can do more than one good deed. To more than one person. You can do a good deed every day of Lent if you wish. The minimum is just one good deed.

4   That’s it. I can’t think of any other rules.

5   Thanx. God bless.

Thank you, Victor. You have blessed me too.

  1. Thank you so much Ceil for taking up this Meme and for your constant kindness and support for my work. I really appreciate it.

Can you imagine how many good deeds we can all achieve together? I hope it makes this world a (slightly) better place.

God bless you and your readers.

    • Hi Victor! It’s a wonderful thing to do and to share. The world needs all of us. If I would only pay attention and be more generous with my time and grace, I really do think someone’s day could be better.

Thank you for tagging me! And for your prayers of blessing for me and any readers here.
      Blessings to you too,
      Ceil

    • Hi Denise! It is awesome, isn’t it? I pray that together with God’s grace, we can do great things for each other.

Thank you for visiting today my friend,
      Ceil

    • Hi Linda! Isn’t that our goal? To hear that voice, and to be directed down the straight path, what a gift that is.

I pray that you will have a prayerful, powerful season with the Lord.

      Blessings,
      Ceil

  2. Ceil,
First, I love the new profile picture of you, beautiful lady you are.
    Good deeds come from goodness.

May today bless you with all good things.

    • Hi Margie! Thank you for the comment on the new photo. I was a little nervous about putting it up. I feel better now!

Yes, good deeds come from goodness itself, the Lord. May we all be his hands and feet! And may God bless you with good things too my friend. You deserve some rest and peace.

      Blessings,
      Ceil

  3. Ceil: At church this evening, we had our Ash Wednesday service. It was attended by children, youth and adults of various ages. One lady is in her 90’s. It is one of my favorite services of the year. I intend to come back to this when I have more time and copy this into my blog.

    • Hi Cecelia! What a wonderful unity of faith you experienced tonight. It sounds beautiful. I can see why you would love it so much.

I’m so glad you will copy this challenge. Doing something for someone else, big or small, brings us out of ourselves and joins us to the love of Christ. Isn’t that the best?

Have a restful night, and thank you for your lovely comment,
      Ceil

    • Hi Dee! What a beautiful comment. You are so right. When we are good to each other, we are living in the character of God. Who would’t want to do that?

I pray that I’ll make it a mission daily to do something beautiful for the Lord.
Have a graced day my friend, you graced mine 🙂

    • Hi Jeanette! Of course! I didn’t tag anyone specifically myself. And you don’t have to copy this to your blog.

Just doing a good deed is perfect. I think that would be wonderful. Thank you!

  4. This is so good Ceil.
I would love to join with you, sacrifice my time to praying. Thanks for sharing 🙂
You have been in my mind.

    Blessing,
    Delvalina

    • Hi Delvalina! How wonderful to see you my friend! You have been gone a long time from the blogging world. I hope your time away was fruitful.

Thank you for your powerful prayers for the world.
You have been on my mind too. I’ve checked out your blog a couple of times to see if you had posted anything. I’ll check again tomorrow 🙂

  5. Doing good deeds just feels so good, doesn’t it? I am just returning home after another trip down the mountain to be with Mom and my family. It felt good to do small things for my mother as she continues to adjust to life without my dad. And, imagine my happiness when I returned to find out that it’s time to re-stock the shelves at our local Help Center! My husband and I love doing that!

If we continue to actively look for ways to bless others, God will reveal a multitude of big and small ways to spread His love.

And isn’t that what it’s all about? (Rhetorical question – the answer is YES!!) 🙂

    GOD BLESS!

    • Hi Sharon! I’m so glad you could spend some time with your family. I know your heart is hurting, and it’s good to be with people who share that feeling. And you were being so merciful to your Mom too.

You do such good works my friend. You are a role model for me. I hope what I do can make as much of a difference as you make.
      God bless you 🙂
      Ceil

    • Hi Floyd! Well bless your generous heart. I am so happy that you’ll join in and make your world a better place…because you are in it!

Together we can be the hands and feet of the Lord. Pretty exciting!

      Have a restful night,
      Ceil
